We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Town Centres Manager to join Rushmoor Borough Council’s expanding Economic Development Team. The postholder will take a proactive role in the revival of our town centres through project delivery, partnership working and developing new ideas and initiatives.
The Town Centres Manager will undertake a range of activities to revitalise both Aldershot and Farnborough town centres during recovery, regeneration works and beyond, with the aim of increasing vitality and footfall. This high profile and challenging post will suit someone with a real passion for making things happen.
The regeneration of our town centres is the Council’s number one priority, and an ambitious regeneration programme is seeking to develop a number of key sites across the borough. The Town Centres Manager will take forward and develop the existing strategy, effectively planning, coordinating and leading in implementing a programme of improvements, actions and innovations.


You will act as the focal point for the management of the Town Centres, working with stakeholders to improve the appearance, effectiveness and offer, proactively marketing opportunities to the sorts of businesses and facilities that are attractive to the Council.
You will have the skills to engage with large and small businesses, support their growth and development and develop dynamic partnership working. You will be a creative and strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, and able to identify and respond to local needs and opportunities. You will also have the ability to manage programmes and projects, delivering successful outcomes.
We are seeking someone with a knowledge of the issues affecting town centres and an understanding of current good practice and innovation in town centre management.
The post requires some unsocial working hours, particularly around the delivery of weekend events and attendance at evening meetings.
