Search Begins for a Project Manager

 

Responsible to: BID Board of Directors

Reporting to: Chair of the BID Board

Position:  Fixed term until 31 March 2026 (Probationary period of six months)

Salary: circa £34,000 (negotiable) dependant on experience

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Regular evening and some weekend working is required. The Employee may be required to work such hours outside normal hours of employment as the Employer considers necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Location: Newcastle Under Lyme BID area

 

This role will represent a hugely exciting opportunity for the prospective candidate to start afresh as the Newcastle under Lyme Business Improvement District (BID) embarks on its 2nd five year term in office and with the town benefitting from Central Government funding streams including the Future High Streets Fund and the Town Deal Fund. Newcastle under Lyme was recently awarded £11.5m through the Future High Streets Fund and is awaiting the outcome of its Town Investment Plan to secure up to £25m via the Town Deal Investment Fund. 

The successful applicant will be accountable for the delivery of projects for the Business Improvement District (BID) Business Plan. This will be done by developing strong relationships with businesses, and partners (both public and private sector), creating project plans, coordinating activity and ensuring effective delivery to achieve the objectives.

CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to develop productive relationships; A structured approach to their work, be able to operate as part of a small team and be self-motivated to work on their own initiative; The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and be experienced in planning and  delivering multiple projects concurrently; and have confidence in managing changing requirements, able to action rapid impact analysis and make recommendations.

Key experience essential for the role:
 

  • Must have proven experience of responsibility for end to end project delivery. 
 
  • A structured and planned approach with attention to detail.
 
  • Budgeting and financial reporting skills.
 
  • Previous experience of managing staff. 
 
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship skills (internal and external).
 
  • Excellent standard of spoken & written English.
 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable.
 
  • You will be able to prioritise and plan your own workload and be happy to work flexibly when required. 
 
  • Excellent IT Skills.
