Just over a decade ago, the UK entered a financial storm. The recession completely transformed the way we invest in our towns and cities with purse strings being tightened many sectors. A challenging environment was heightened as austerity coincided with the unrelenting growth of digital technology, transforming business practices and consumer behaviour.
The past few years have seen the development of innovative new models to increase the flow of capital back into town centres. There is no doubting how important this is. In fact, in our membership survey last year, inward investment emerged as top of a list of concerns for the town and city management industry.
On the 20th April, in Oldham town centre, ATCM is delighted to be joined by Jim McMahon MP, Shadow Minister for Local Government and Devolution, and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Town Centres, to discuss investment models for town and city centres.
