The 22nd March is the deadline for Expressions of Interest for the Future High Streets Fund. £675 million will be available to local authorities working in partnership with others in a competitive bidding process.
This ATCM North East and Yorkshire meeting will support members by providing an overview of the Future High Streets Fund before helping to develop ideas around town centre living and digital infrastruture, two aspects referenced by the MHCLG as being important to a strong bid. We will discuss the structure of the Fund and any restrictions to applying in order to provide feedback to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
We will also discuss the topical policy issues for the day from the Treasury Select Committee's Inquiry into the impact of business rates on businesses, an update on MHCLG's planning reform proposals and Brexit. There will be a review of the ATCM Place Management Conference 'Death of the High Street?' and we will unveil plans for Summer School 2019.
