2019 was another bad year for high street retail. Bad news about household names continued roll in throughout the year including Debenhams, M&S and Mothercare.
Increasingly, as retail is no longer seen as an anchor in terms of footfall generation, experience is being seen as the way to bring people into town centres who may spend money and time in local businesses as a result.
The first ATCM Midlands meeting of 2020 will take place in Leicester. We will learn about the activities happening to create a vibrant local economy, take a closer look at their popular LEGO trail linkedin to the 50th anniversary of the moon landings and hear from local business, Bru Coffee and how the franchise is supporting the footfall generation.
As this is the first meeting following the General Election we will also assess the policies of Boris Johnson’s Government and discuss the implications for high streets across the Midlands.
